Animals have been known to survive in places you'd never expect them to. IF they have their needs properly met, I am sure it is totally possible. Just think about a Zoo. You have animals from a completely different region living "comfortably."

It is unlikely that the armadillo could survive the extreme cold of Vermont but they have surprised us in the past and extended their range into other areas where their survival was not thought possible.
