Can dogs do other dogs or even cats?

Yes, cats can live with dogs. My friend Aimmee has three cats and she also has 2 dogs. But sometimes separates them in different rooms because they can get ina fight. If some of you have both cats and dogs its better if you separate them.

In general, any dog can be trained to cohabitate with other dogs and with cats - it is a matter of training and socialization. However, certain breeds are thought to be more "cat friendly" or "dog friendly" - these include most of the working group such as Retrievers, Spaniels and Pointers. In contrast, the herding group such as Collies and Shepherds may need more training to accept another dog or a cat as being "part of the family" because these breeds were trained to guard and protect their flock - they may initially see a cat or another dog as a predator to drive away from their "flock"/family.

Any dog can be taught to get along with a cat but it depends greatly on the cat as well. If it is constantly hissing the dog will be provoked into reacting. So a cat who is already familiar and unafraid of a dog will help out a lot, otherwise raise the two together from birth and they will know no better.
