Most drug tests that are run are five panel drug tests. They search for things like Heroin, Amphetamines, THC, Cocaine, and Ecstasy. These drug tests do not show the quantity of the drug used, just the fact that the drug was used.

∙ 13y agoNope. Pot will be deposited within the hair follicle within 24-48 hours. The cannabinoids will only provide an indication of if that person has smoked or not. Additional cannabinoids are not deposited within the hair follicle after the hair is growing out of your head. It can only be deposited from the scalp as in all reality hair is dead anyway.
So if you smoke a year ago, and then all your hair grows out and you cut it, there will be no more evidence of marijuana in the hair strand.
Now if you smoke regularly, the hair strand would be covered in THC cells. You'd need to cut it all off (ALL OF IT) to remove any evidence.

Cannanoids will stay present in your hair. Go to the store (by that I mean the pot-shop). There are many products available that you can shampoo with and will remove the 'nutrients' from your hair.

THC stays in the hair much longer than in the body. Depending on how much hair is used in the test, THC can show up as long as 3 YEARS after last smoking it. For a urine test, THC shows up from 3-30 DAYS after last smoking it (depending on how much and how often you smoke.)
