There are cases on this issue which clearly defines that you must have served at least one day in prison to be considered a convicted felon to fall under the laws prohibiting you from possessing a firearm. I know the leading case on this issue but you'll have find same way I have. Good luck.

It depends. If the felony was a federal charge, then no. If the felony was a state charge, sometimes. Some states allow felons to regain thier rights under some circumstances. You should probably consult a lawyer in your area that is familiar with the process.
