There are few people who will say yes and many who will say no.
I personally own both and let them even house together, I allow my rats to climb into my piggies cage and they all sleep together every night. It honestly depends on the animals personalities and reaction to another species. They can be aggressive and the aggression can go too far. My pets are all quiet, curious, friendly, and sweet. No aggression is ever showed so that is why they're able to be together.
Maybe they would get along if they live together from babies but its not something i would recommend doing, rats are so different to guinea pigs and have the ability to digest meat,i once had three rats and one morning i only had two the other was buried in sawdust it had its throat ripped out,i was so horrified i have never kept rats again,i think due to their nature the rat is probably more aggressive,a guinea pig has very little means of protecting itself and is less agile than a rat, wild rats also eat newborn baby guinea pigs if they get into their cage as they can smell blood,im not really down on rats its just nature.i hope this helps
yes they are in the same family:RODENTS (But still cute)
dont put them together guinea pigs and rats just won get a long
Rats are part predator. They could, if the guinea pig is small enough. But guinea pigs and rats don't usually come in contact in the wild or in captivity.
Depends on the attitude of the cat. Some cats ignore little animals like that; others simply attack it because it's moving.
no they can not because they will fight.
Rats cannot live with guinea pigs. Although there may be some exceptions, rats and guinea pigs generally do not get along well at all. The same goes for rats and mice. Each type of rodent should have it's own cage and living area.
no.
well they both love company
Dogs and guinea pigs usually don't get along well as in the wild the guinea pig is usually preyed upon by animals such as a wild dog. you should keep the guinea pigs away separate from your dogs. There have been times however when a dog and a guinea pig do get along well.
They do get along very well. Sometimes it depends on their personalities. When you are gone, They have someone to play with.
from B A well no because they do not prey for each other. there are both predoters.
I myself own two girl guinea pigs. But i dont understand why they get along so well. I belive that it my just be that girls have no competition, because the competition is left to the boy guinea pigs. So, therefore, that is why girl guinea pigs get along better than boy guinea pigs.
get 2 female they get along well but get them about the same sise
yes very well! i have kept guinea pigs with bunnies, goats, cats, and dogs and they all get along very well. my boyfriend's dog plays with his pet guinea and they play tag and hide and seek all over the living room.
well.... guinea pigs might not be wild, but wild cavies, simalar to guinea pigs, are wild.
Rodents are mammals of the family Rodentia, and includes rats, mice, guinea pigs, and hamsters, as well as beavers, squirrels and porcupines.
Guinea pigs aren't related to pigs in any way except for the name. Guinea pigs are rodents, farmyard pigs are not.
