perscribed to patients with the purpose of relieving moderate to severe pain. Too much vicodin will not make you hallucinate, but can give you a heightened sense of self worth and how you see the world. Try to keep the dose on the lower end if possible an only dosing if symptoms of pain arise.

High doses have been known to cause closed-eye visuals for some people, and very rarely open-eyed visuals. I have experienced both. They're less "hallucinations" and more psychedelic patterns and colors.
