I'm not sure, but, I had 2 gold fish die recently for no apparent reason. Am wondering if the upside down cat fish hurt them in any way. He always chases them around & they act frightened by the cat fish.
yes but as soon as odd behavior occers, remove one of the 2 types of fish.
Its Dieing .
It's most likely already dead.
Julii corydoras and neon tetras to even African cichlids.
Well that all comes down to what kind of catfish u have peppered corydoras will only eat another one of your fish if it died and sank to the bottom so just research your fish first and then buy the less aggressive fish. in my tank i have 2 species of catfish, 2 upside down catfish and 2 peppered corys and they havnt attacked any of my fish. Oh and if u get upside down catfish dont get the bigger version it's very aggressive. hope that helps
Goldfishes and guppies should be kept in a different tank....
Catfish eggs are fertilized by the male after being They must be goldfish eggs. It is nearly impossible to have catfish breed on their own in a tank or pond. Any fish female can have eggs, the eggs are fertilized after the female lays the eggs. So if the eggs hatch then most likely they be goldfish.
No. Goldfish are cold-water fish, plecos (which are catfish) and your other catfish are warm-water fish. You run a heater in a pleco/catfish tank, but no heater in a goldfish tank. Plecos are also territorial toward conspecifics, meaning two plecos in one tank will fight and possiibly kill each other. The other problem? A 50-gallon tank is only large enough for one pleco, even if they weren't territorial. I would return one pleco, either the catfish--what is it, a bagrid?--or the other pleco, and the goldfish. If you want to build a community around one of these big cats, try some medium-sized tough cichlids like Jack Dempseys or firemouths. I kept three Dempseys and a pleco in a 55-gallon aquarium for years, and they were great together.1st: Plecos are catfish.2nd: Goldfish can't live with any other fish besides other goldfish. 3rd: What kind of Catfish is it? 4th: 1 pleco per tank only!
if it is lying down flat it might be sick
It depends what kind of Catfish it is. You can put a little in the tank and if the Catfish doesn't eat it than net it out. They will eat frozen foods like Bloodworms usually as long as you thaw them out before feeding it to them.
Yes, as long as the gold fish is big enough not to be eaten by the catfish. Make sure the catfish is a cold water variety. No
As long as the tank water is clean, and the fish are being fed properly, the catfish may just be entertaining itself by swimming that way.
Goldfish die in cold water because they are not used to the water tempurture. But if you put the fish in a bag and set the bagin the cold water the water in the bag and in the tank will be come the same tempurture.
