A Uncharacterized discharge is a ELS (Entry Level Separation) and you can re-join but
it depends or your RE code 1 - 2 - 3 allow you to rejoin. A 4 does not!
WHAT IS AN UNCHARACTERIZED DISCHARGE
military i.d. expires upon leaving service
The way I was explained the condition of this Discharge, is that it is UNCHARACTERIZED, and most times "UNDER HONORABLE CONDITIONS", as to say Honorable and does not bar you from reentry into the Military after a due course of time. Supposedly, it can become honorable under certain conditions, mayhaps after 6 months of service with the Military. In some cases, as when a commendable soldier cannot pass a specific training, he/she can become eligible for the General "Under Honorable" Discharge, upon exiting the Military. After 6 Months of Military Service, one can become eligible for Veteran Status, gaining government due Veteran Benefits. SPC MEDINA
It is also known as an "Entry Level Discharge", and occurs no more than 180 days after beginning service. It means, simply, "you didn't work out as a soldier". There is generally no after-service stigma attached to it. It is considered a "neither good nor bad" discharge.
You would have to return and be allowed another MEPS medical screening, and with medical proof that the reasons for discharge are expunged and not likely to return. All of this would most likely include another medical board depending on the discharge.
