The rims in the Canyon are about 2400 meters above sea level, and can get quite cold during the winter season. The all time record for GC Airport is -29 F (!) but that was during a freak cold front.

Freezing temperature occur every winter at the South Rim, and the North Rim closes for months each winter, due to heavy snow.

The bottom of the Grand Canyon has been known to get as cold as 20 degrees Fahrenheit. This is typically a low at night.

Most definitely. The North Rim gets so much snow that the road to it closes for several months every winter. The South Rim invariably gets some snow every year as well.
