No. Since they are not Catholic they probably wouldn't want a mass. A nondenominational service should be conducted.
Yes. A Catholic is someone who belongs to the Catholic Church; a nonCatholic is someone who, simply enough, is not Catholic..

Roman Catholic Answer It sounds as if you are asking about having Masses said for the deceased. Usually when you have such a Mass said, you offer the priest a stipend, or a stole fee. This is a free will offering given directly to the priest, not the Church, and it is to help him with his personal upkeep. It is NOT a fee for the Mass, it is a sin, called simony, to pay… Read More
I would not recommend it. It is more respectful to the family of the deceased to give a donation to their faith community as opposed to the sender's. Additionally, the Mass card results in the name of the deceased being mentioned in a religious service that is not part of their custom or beliefs. Would a Catholic want their deceased loved one's name to be a part of a non-Catholic service? Probably not.
I'm not really sure what you are asking. If you are asking what happens with the deceased before his funeral Mass, then usually the night before there is a viewing or visitation when friends and neighbors gather round the body to offer their condolences to the survivors and their individual prayers for the deceased. The Catholic Church has an official "wake" ceremony for this event. Traditionally, the rosary is prayed also, now that is done… Read More
