yes - eventually - yes. it takes a lot of work and prayer and therapists. my son has 5 different therapists for different symptoms and it is all working and he is speaking "normal." it is very rewarding to be really involved in getting your child help. it takes a lot of effort and patience and understanding and learning how to be a parent therapist because what they know and teach us parents does really work well!!!! Praise Jesus Christ for helping our autistic children and adults!!!!! Thank You Jesus for the therapists and doctors and medicines - they do help. The Lord uses these wonderful people to be a huge blessing to my boy and us!

They might, they might not.

Many non-verbal autistic children do go on to speak - for example I was non-verbal up until the age of 7 years old and now as an adult I speak as much (if not more) than anyone else - where as many autistic children will never speak. Some autistic children will also have co-morbid conditions that prevent them from speaking too, which are often permanent.

Yes, Autistic children can speak normally.

Some of us are non-verbal and may remain non-verbal throughout our lives, we will communicate with other methods such as written language, sign language, or body language. Some of us have no problems with speech what-so-ever so will speak normally like our peers. Some of us will have delays in our speech, either being non-verbal before talking some time after neurotypical peers and sometimes talking when our neurotypical peers do but struggling with pronunciation.

Speech therapy and other behavioral therapies can help - although it should be noted that some therapies used on Autistic children are cruel and try to force Autistic children to act like neurotypical children which long-term can cause serious harm and regression. It should also be noted that progress is due to the individuals effort as much as anyone elses, and make-believe beings such as Jesus have nothing to do with a childs development.

Yes, if you're Autistic then you can speak.

Some Autistic people are non-verbal and there are various reasons for this, sometimes related to other conditions rather than just Autism. Some Autistic people may have been non-verbal as children but become verbal as they grew-up, and some Autistic people may be semi-verbal so may not be able to speak when they are under stress or in certain situations. I am Autistic and was non-verbal until I was 7 years old, into adulthood there are still times when I am unable to speak - I was unable to make myself speak, but once I did start talking I spoke in full sentences and had only mild speech problems.

Whether an Autistic boy speaks or not depends completely on the child in question. A lot of Autistic people are non-verbal and continue to be non-verbal due to their autism alone for the rest of their lives or they may suddenly start speaking one day. Some Autistic people have other conditions along with autism which prevents them speaking, but with therapy or treatment they may speak at some point.

My 2.5 year-old doesn't speak till now but he looks normal would he still be autistic?

If your child is Autistic then they will always be Autistic, that cannot change as Autism is part of their neurology and who they are. I'm not entirely sure why 'looks normal' is a reason to think his Autism is in question, Autistic people look no different to neurotypical people. Please, if your child is Autistic you need to learn about Autism.

In the book rules is Jason autistic?

What charities help autistic kids?

Autistic Self-Advocacy Network is regarded as one of the best organisations for Autistic people, not sure if they are a charity or not but they are a good first-call for information on helping Autistic people. Avoid Autism Speaks, they are considered to be a hate group and although they claim to help Autistic people they actually harm us. From propaganda to torture, from supporting parents murdering Autistic children to eugenics - Autism Speaks does not speak for us.

Why can't some autism people talk?

You can hear Autistic people simply by listening to them - whether they talk verbally or communicate via other means. The organisation Autism Speaks has the tagline 'It's time to listen' but they refuse to listen to autistic people...you can't hear unless you listen, and that's when problems arise with people seeking to 'help' autistic people when they don't know what autistic people need or want.

Why might a children's language development be delayed?

Autistic children do speak - some Autistic children are non-verbal, but then some allistic children are mute. In Autistic children, provided there is no secondary issue that prevents them from speaking, it can simply be because their brain doesn't know how to communicate verbally.

What are tips for parents with autistic children?

Listen to autistic people - even those who are mildly effected know more about what it is to be autistic than a neurotypical parent. Also remember that how someone is affected by autism and the severity in which they are affected varies throughout their lives so it may well be the 'passable' autistic adult was once severely effected when they were children. Your child will also be an adult at some point, adults who have already been through this are your greatest allies. Do not listen to Autism Speaks - this organisation does not speak for autistic people and are known to be openly prejudice against autistic people, they use harmful rhetoric about autistic people to increase their profits which in turn causes a lot more ignorance and prejudice towards autism. Autism Speaks are considered a hate group by most autistic people and autism allies.

How do you teach an autistic 12 year old girl to speak?

I can help with this a lot, however I would need to know how Autistic they are, prefably on the CAR scale. Mild (10-30) They should be able to learn how to speak on their own, however, it might take a while for them to learn. Moderate (31-45) They might not do well with words, the best thing to do is to Practice Practice Practice, Special ed classes would do the best for her. Advanced (46-60) The best thing to do is to Practice Practice Practice. Keep in mind that although you may practice a ton, they are on the high end of the spectrum. They may not be able to speak at all, but keep your hopes high! If you have any questions about Autistic Children then email me at ijm9098@gmail.com I have tons of experience with Autistic children.
