The above answer is wrong. It can can use online features and stuff from EA. I would just recommend to find the updates offline and patch it yourself. I would recommend to buy the game also..so much less hassle >..< Useless you really know how to work with torrents. It is Illegal, but some people don't have the money to buy the sims. Also..look for the sims game on ebay..amazon..maybe they have it for cheaper :)
