The egg case can be moved, but not the individual eggs. The only way to even retrieve a sample of an egg that is dead will be to cut the egg case open and they are hard to remove, for they're more tightly packed than honeycomb. To move an egg case however, either remove the surface that it's on from the plant etc. or simply slip a thin knife behind it and it will peel off.
