The egg case can be moved, but not the individual eggs. The only way to even retrieve a sample of an egg that is dead will be to cut the egg case open and they are hard to remove, for they're more tightly packed than honeycomb. To move an egg case however, either remove the surface that it's on from the plant etc. or simply slip a thin knife behind it and it will peel off.

yes, i think so. I've been researching this all day. my female is clearly pregnant but has been separated from the other manti well before her last and final molt. she's definitely a virgin!

Yes it lays eggs ussualy on tree branches and once it is laid the outer surface gets quite hard, they also hide them in very conspicuous places...
