There are no known health risks or complications for pregnant women eating Yellow Nutsedge (also known as tiger nuts, earth almonds and chufa sedge). The scientific name is cyperus esculentus.
Apparently the produce of cyperus plants is good for suppressing the feeling of nausea, which may help with the pregnancy symptom of morning sickness. But I do not see very much evidence of that being backed up by research. However the oils of the tiger nut are known to help relive the symptoms of diarrhoea and indigestion.
