No. their teeth are not sharp enough. LoL. you guys should know.....
It depends on the thickness of the metal. I have had rats chew through chicken wire and wire mesh screen. I have never, though, had a problem with them chewing through wire thicker than a coat hanger, or sheet metal.
Rats have very strong teeth. It depends on what type of rat. Some rats can chew throguhl and others can only chew through a soft surface. I have 2 rats. 1 of my rats can chew through a blanket. The other one can chew through much stronger stuff.
All rodents have to keep chewing to wear down their teeth, which never stop growing. I have seen squirrels chew through the heavy gauge wire on a chain link fence, and I have no doubt a mouse could chew through stainless steel if it was not too thick.
No, a mouse cannot chew through metal.
Yes, rats can chew through steel wool to gain access to a property.
No, squirrels cannot chew through metal. They have strong teeth that are adapted for gnawing on nuts and seeds, but metal is too hard for them to chew through.
Yes. Rats can chew through metal such as a metal lining not too thin or even copper wires. There are many occurances where rats have been found dead where they will chew into a hot wire and electrocute themselves. Steel plating is a metal that they may not be able to chew through.
No, squirrels cannot chew through metal objects. They have strong teeth that are capable of gnawing through wood and other materials, but metal is too hard for them to chew through.
Anything, they especially if they can chew on it.
Rats are always going to chew. It is instinct. Their teeth never stop growing and they must chew on wood and other things to keep their teeth ground down. You will need a cage suitable for rats that they can not chew through. This would be a metal cage with bars close enough together that they can't escape or an aquarium with a metal cover. Be aware though, aquariums are not ventilated like the wire cages and must be kept very clean as it will hold ammonia and cause further problems.
Mice cannot chew through materials like metal, glass, or thick plastic.
