I've learned it largely depends on the weave of the fabric. I've had some rayon clothes do great in the washer, while others shrank, even though I line dried them. So the best thing to do if you aren't sure is to follow the laundering instruction on the garment label, or dry clean. And if you do machine wash, it's often best not to machine dry rayon clothing; let it drip dry.
Some rayon will shrink when washed, and some types also bleed onto the clothes they are washed with. Be sure to check the washing instructions printed on the label of the garment. You can also minimize damage by putting the rayon into a mesh bag, then putting it into the washer.
Rayon and nylon are both synthetic, but rayon is made from wood pulp. Still rayon is made with a machine and other materials. Cotton is a natural fabric and dyes way better.
Oh yes and it wrinkles badly too. I don't buy it for that reason.
struture of rayon
Rayon was the first mandmade fiber to be produced and is known as a regenerated cellulose. Rayon is known as "artificial silk" and was created as a less expensive alternative to silk, although rayon is still an expensive fabric. It is easily wrinkles and shrinks, and is usually dry clean only. However, modifications can be made to rayon to make it stronger, known as HT Rayon. Modal is rayon that is washable.
Modal is modified Rayon that can be machine washed. Also known as High Wet Modulus Rayon.

Modal is another word for Rayon, which is another word for polyester. Read the care label because sometimes it can be washed and sometimes it cannot. If there is no care label then the safest thing to do is to have it dry cleaned.

Yes, Ultrasuede can be machine washed. It was designed to be able to stand up to machine washing with other clothes.

A feather duvet can be washed in your home washing machine, although it's not recommended. A professional cleaner will have a much easier time cleaning it for you. Duvet covers can be washed normally with your sheets.
Any tablecloth made of vinyl or polyester are machine washable. Other materials, such as cotton and rayon, are usually - but not always - machine washable as well.
Yes. I wash in cold water with woollite at hand wash cycle for a very short period of time. My dress is shorter than it's linning after washed. My coworker also has a linen pants come out shrinked 3 inches and became shorter than the linning. I got her warning before I wash mine. I am trying to pull the dress make it longer than the linning before it is dry. I am waiting to see if it keep the length is kept after it's dry. I will never machine washed or buy 55% linen and 45% rayon blend clothing.
Yes, I have washed mine many times over the years.
