I was bitten on the back of the head on 3 separate occasions by a particularly ornery loggerhead turtle...Yes, it hurts. Once, it drew blood.So dont hurt them and they will not hurt you =D

Green sea turtles have cerration instead of teeth and are capable of inflicting a painful bite. Their flippers are also very strong with a claw which is very sharp. I have been smacked by a flipper and it hurt.....a lot! (we were working with captive animals) As with all wildlife, it is best to always keep a safe distance and with no interactions there would be less chance of any danger.
