If you like you can freeze it, though it is usually not necessary. I assume you are talking about cured ham either country cured or sugar cured. These are both methods of removing moisture from the meat and preparing it so that it does not become contaminated. Freezing of these meats will probably allow you to store it longer and you can also cut it into smaller servings and freeze it also.

Yes, of course you can. I've kept ham in the freezer for months with no problems.

Yes. As long as it has only been cooked once and frozen afterwards

"Refreeze" means it has already been frozen and thawed once. You are strongly advised not not to eat anything that has been frozen and thawed twice.

Ready to cook means that the ham has already been partially cooked, but still needs to cook before eating. If a ham shank is "Ready to Eat" this means that the ham is fully cooked and can be eaten right out of the package.

Can you bake a ham and then freeze it?

According to this page at Cook's Ham, if you're not going to eat it within 7-10 days, freeze it, then thaw in fridge...it's all at this link. I was wondering the same thing, this year, when I get the free ham from the supermarket promotion that I usually donate to a food bank, I'm going to have to cut it in pieces and freeze it for several meals for me. Times such as these...happy holidays! http://www.cooksham.com/hamTV/#handling_thawing
