I want to scare off pigeons and squirrels with a 1mW green laser pen but it doesnt work. Is it the wrong colour or can't these creatures see coloured laser light?
You need a green laser for that & one mw is not enough. I advise atleast a 100mw and sometimes even that is not enough. 80% of the pigeons are gone with even a short bust of green laser light but up to 20% plays difficult.

They do! however a large amount of squirrels were force to leave their natural habitat due to deforestation. These squirrels offspring are then reared in non rainforest-ed areas. Getting accustom to areas populated with humans thus we see many squirrels in our neighborhood.
