Well...I was diagnosed with Bronchitis. I am usually a light sleeper and only sleep a few hours a night but while recovering from the infection and for a couple weeks after, I was very tired all the time. No matter how often I slept or how long, I couldn't get enough rest. I think any illness can cause fatigue. You're fighting off whatever it is making you sick, and that's tiring. The best solution is to rest as much as you're able and due to how Bronchitis is, try to avoid strenuous activities.
Bronchitis is inflammation of the mucous membranes of the bronchi, the airways that carry airflow from the trachea into the lungs. Bronchitis can be classified into two categories, acute and chronic, each of which has unique etiologies, pathologies, and therapies.Acute bronchitis is characterized by the development of a cough, with or without the production of sputum, mucus that is expectorated (coughed up) from the respiratory tract. Acute bronchitis often occurs during the course of an acute viral illness such as the common cold or influenza. Viruses cause about 90% of cases of acute bronchitis while bacteria account for less than 10%.[1]Chronic bronchitis, a type of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, is characterized by the presence of a productive cough that lasts for 3 months or more per year for at least 2 years. Chronic bronchitis most often develops due to recurrent injury to the airways caused by inhaled irritants. Cigarette smoking is the most common cause, followed by air pollution and occupational exposure to irritants, and cold air. From Wikipedia, the free enciclopedia
I used my cpap while I had bronchitis and it made me feel at ease because it opened up my airways and allowed me to take deeper breaths to breathe
A stethoscope is a valuable tool for assessing bronchitis, as healthcare providers can listen for characteristic lung sounds such as wheezing, crackles, or rhonchi. While these sounds may indicate inflammation or mucus in the airways, a stethoscope alone cannot definitively diagnose bronchitis. Diagnosis typically involves considering symptoms, patient history, and sometimes additional tests. Thus, while a stethoscope can provide clues, it is not conclusive for bronchitis.
Breathing cold air while sleeping can cause irritation to the respiratory system and may worsen conditions like asthma or bronchitis. It is generally recommended to keep the room at a comfortable temperature to avoid breathing in excessively cold air while sleeping.
