Yes, The ecm sends a ground to the starter relay which in turns sends current (power) to the starter relay or moving pole shoe, however yours is equipped.
The ecm receives a signal from the transmission position sensor so that the ecm knows whether the vehicle is in neutral or park. Thus only sending ground to relay when the proper shift position is attained.
Yes, that is one of many possible causes.
You could have a fuel pressure problem, lack of spark, malfunctioning computer, or internal engine damage.
vehicle will not start how do I reset the computer you don't need to
Remove the positive cable for 10 minutes. Then reconnect it. Start the vehicle and turn off the vehicle, this should solve your problem. Also just FYI, don't jump start another vehicle, this year of car is likely to have computer problems in the future after giving a jump, your basically frying your computer.
Computer Card? What are you talking about? There is no computer card in this vehicle. It has a ECU or computer as it is sometimnes called. Without the ECU the car will not start, as the ECU controls the fuel pump relay and fuel/air mixture. I doubt you can. The vehicle is completely depenant upon that "brain" for everything.
Start determined if it is electrical or mechanical Start at the logical beginning and work your way until you find what is not malfunctioning and what is malfunctioning. If there is a manual available and the wiring diagram use that as well.
Yes, it could overload your computer causing the blue screen of death error (BSD). When you start your computer again, the virus would be running on your computer.
Not likely. If the computer was malfunctioning, you're performance would be junk or the car wouldn't even start. If you need confirmation, a mechanic with computer diagnostics can tell if your ECU is working or not.
The check engine light is on because the computer has detected a problem with the emissions system. Have the computer scanned with an OBD2 scan tool. This will give you a code, and with this code you will have an idea where to start looking.
i had that happen to me be for and we had to take it to a dealer and have them reset the computer in your vehicle.
Did the starter make any noise previous to this? Try crossing the celenoid. Will it start right away if you get jumped by another vehicle? I know that NAPA will test starters for FREE all you have to do is take it out of the vehicle. Some stores can even check it on the vehicle. the electric fuel ignition may be malfunctioning
That depends on what part of the system is malfunctioning. You will probably need to start by using a scanner to check the cluster for trouble codes. That depends on what part of the system is malfunctioning. You will probably need to start by using a scanner to check the cluster for trouble codes.
