Yes - all birds have wings. It's just that some of them are useless for flight.

The New Zealand kiwi has wings, though it appears to have none. The wings are small and rudimentary, hidden under the kiwis' hairy feathers, but certainly present.

The kiwi is part of a group of birds called ratites. Other ratites include the Southern cassowary and emu of Australia and New Guinea, the ostrich from Africa and the rhea from South America.

Ratites have wings but the bones in their chests do not have the capacity for flight muscles, which is what a bird needs to fly.

No. The kiwi has tiny, rudimentary wings that are so small they are completely hidden beneath their thick covering of shaggy feathers.

The kiwi is a member of the group of Flightless Birds known as ratites. Ratites have wings but the bones in their chests do not have the capacity for flight muscles, which is what a bird also needs to fly.
