It may be possible to take some precautionary measures to help prevent acid reflux. Some of these precautionary actions include eating smaller, more frequent meals rather than larger meals, avoiding foods that commonly cause heart burn like alcohol, acidic fruit and spicy foods; maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding tight fitting clothes around the waist, and avoiding food a few hours before bedtime. There are also a few medications that may help prevent acid reflux symptoms if taken before eating.

There is a large assortment of medicines that can help you but because you can find all that out at a pharmacy I will tell you the natural helpers. Try sitting upright after eating as gravity can do the work. Don't exercise right after eating. Take note of the foods that give you acid reflex and try to avoid these.

Is malic acid bad for acid reflux?

You would have to consume an unrealistic amount of malic acid for it to have an impact on acid reflux. (Usually it is used sparingly as a coating on sour sweets; the amount that you actually ingest is fairly small as malic acid is very sour). However if you think it is making your acid reflux worse, try avoiding it for a while.
