If by more than "one type" you mean can you be a criminal and civil litigator at the same time the answer is yes, although most attorneys specialize in one or the other. If you mean can you be a prosecutor and defense attorney at different time periods the answer is also yes. Many attorneys work as prosecutors or assistant prosecutors before entering private practice as defense attorneys.

Yes, they certainly may have more than one specialty. While there are a few types of law that require special exams or admission, in general an attorney may do anything an attorney is authorized to do.

Is a lawyer the same thing as an attorney?

An attorney is usually somebody that has passed the bar exam within their state and can represent you in a court of law. A Lawyer is somebody that is trained in law and can give legal advice but usually cannot represent you in a court of law. They are not yet excepted into their states bar. So an attorney can be a lawyer but a lawyer is not qualified to be an attorney even though a lot of times in the U.S we use the term as if they were the same.

Are there any travel requirements to being a lawyer?

Being a lawyer does not usually involve a great amount of travel, but there is certainly some travel; you have to be able to make it to court, and to your own law office, and sometimes you may need to visit a client at his own address or office, or (depending upon your particular legal specialty) even in jail.

You can re-open your chapter 7 and amend the relevant documents. Some bankruptcy districts still maintain that unsecured debts not omitted for fraud or other illegal purpose are discharged even though not listed. Check with a local bankruptcy lawyer for your court's practice.

What is doctors possible next level?

The doctorate is the highest level of educational attainment, also known as a terminal degree. Still, there are those who take post doctoral coursework (mostly research specific) depending on the specialty. For example, if you graduate from a Medical School with an M.D. (D.D.S., D.O., etc), you could then work within your specialty as a Resident doctor or Dentist for a facility or hospital. Afterward, you would likely go into practice or join a practice within your specialty. If you graduate with your Ph.D., you could either go into post-doctoral programs as a researcher, or go straight into working for an educational institution as a professor or lecturer within your field of study, or even work for non-profit or for-profit institutions as a research fellow. Also, J.D., or Juris Doctor, is the terminal degree for lawyers. Though not commonly referred to as a Doctor, they do have a Doctorate in Law essentially, though there is some controversy about that subject.

Can a periodontist work as a dentist?

In most states in the U.S., when a licensed dentist limits his practice to a specialty, he/she is constrained from performing any procedures that does not fall within the scope of the specialty. This is a matter of law, not ability. Every dental specialist was first trained as a general dentist. For example, a periodontist may not place fillings or make dentures because those procedures are not related directly to periodontology, even though they are clinically capable. General dentists, on the other hand, may perform any procedure that falls within the practice of dentistry, including those procedures that are routinely performed by specialists.
