yes. you can. you can also send and reseve text messages. go to the app store, search "txt now" then pick the app you want the most. with the calling app, go to the app store and search "calling" or "phone" pic the app you want. NOTICE: the calling app will not work if your iPod does not have a built in mic, or a plug in mic.

∙ 13y agoActually, yes you can call on the iPod Touch. BUT, you can only call on the new iPod Touch that came out in September 2010 with a camera and FaceTime. FaceTime allows you to call other people that have FaceTime such as iPhone costumers.

∙ 10y agoI am assuming you mean making a phone call. You can do so only using an application like Skype, and only in a WiFi hotspot. If you are not calling another Skype user, you will need to have a Skype account with a balance in it that will allow you to call "regular" phone numbers.

∙ 13y agoNo, Unfortunatly You cannot. It's an Ipod. If it was the Iphone 4 OR ANY VERSION it would be calling enabled. Hope it helped
