SURE I WOULD RUN MOTOR FOR A MINUTE TO THIN OIL TURN OFF LET SIT FOR 5 MINUTES THEN DRAIN Yeah its just easier to do it when the oil is warms because it flows better and doesn't take as long to drain.
engine rattles when cold are usually caused by lack of oil circulation in engine. this can be caused by old oil, wrong oil viscosity.or incorrect valve tappet clearences your vehicle may just need a good old fashioned tuneup and oil change
Changing the oil on a KLF 300 Bayou is simple. Start with making sure the engine is cold and then you will drain the oil by unplugging the plug on the oil pan.
You can check it when the engine is cold and you should check the oil level in your engine when the engine has sat for at least 30 minutes. This way all the oil has drained back into the oil pan and you will get an accurate reading on the dipstick.
If you are doing an oil change it would be 2.75 quarts. That will bring it to just under the full line when cold.
There is no oil to change in a two stroke engine. The lubricant is the oil that is mixed with the gas.
When it is time to change your oil, you should change all of the oil.
It is either time for a oil and filter change or the engine is low on oil.
From the moment you turn on the vehicle, it changes in two ways: 1. When it is cold and the oil is cold and thicker, it needs more pressure to pump the oil through the engine. You will notice a change in the oil pressure at idle when it is cold and at idle after the engine has had a chance to warm up. 2. The higher RPM the engine has to operate in (such as going through speeds 1, 2, 3, OD, or flooring it to pass someone), the more lubrication the engine will need and thus the higher the oil pressure. As soon as the engine slows down, so the oil pressure lowers.
the oil heats up in the transmission and the gears slide easier check the transmission oil and think of a possible change of oil
The service engine soon is the same as a check engine light. It has nothing to do with an oil change.
For the 3.8 liter V6 engine in a 1997 Ford Mustang : With engine oil filter change : ( 4.7 liters of engine oil )
A little, yes; you want the oil to be warm rather than cold. Running the car too much will make the oil and the engine dangerously hot.
