No. As you stated, "as earned income?", it does not qualify as such. Only bonafide wages actually earned is required.
It doesn't. You just need to contact EDD and follow their instructions for moving while receiving benefits.
An application for UI or Unemployment Insurance benefits can be filed online through the New York State's Department of Labor website. This is the preferred method. A UI claim can also be filed by phone using the State's dedicated toll-free number.
The types of unemployment are: Regular UI, Interstate Claim for Benefits, Combined Wage Claim (CWC) for Benefits, Extended Benefits, Unemployment Compensation for Federal Civilian Employees (UCFE), Unemployment Compensation for Ex-Military Personnel (UCX), and Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA)
Someone who lost a payroll employee job, and otherwise qualifies for UI benefits, gets UI and then becomes an independent contractor somewhere else? No problem. She must report all income earned, and may have UI benefits offset. Someone WAS a non-employee contractor, and lost the assignment? Zero UI benefits from the lost assignment: she was never an employee. Employers pay no UI tax on non-employees, so they get no benefits.
The claim form doesn't have to be mailed, it can be submitted online or by telephone. Contact your local edd for details.
If I am drawing state retirement and then take another job and later get laid off, I can APPLY for UI benefits. In every state, I must report to the UI agency all sources of income INCLUDING pensions. I could earn too much to qualify for UI benefits.

One of the main requirements (at least in Texas) of being eligible for UI benefits is being "able and available for work" If you quit due to a health issue are you still able to work in another field? If not you would not be eligible for UI. If so then you may be eligible. Most people are required to do a specified amount of job searches per week and report this to UI You also have to have enough wages in your base period - the past year - to be eligible. Again I am only knowledgeable of Texas UI - every state is different
yes you can claim disability benefits for a child's wrongfull death
Claim benefits is a term mostly used in regards to unemployment benefits. In this regard, it means you have filed for, and received, money from the state while you were unemployed.
