∙ 12y agoI had my tonsils taken out 8 days ago 3 days after i had it done i was dipping like normal...when they released me form the hospital i had a few cigs on the way home. last night i had to be rushed to the hospital because my scab came off early. They say it wasnt due to smokeing or dippin that 1 in 30 people have this problem so i spent my night doing my 2nd surgery because of the bleeding....if ur start to bleed just a little make sure u let someone know because i brushed my teeth about 1 am and had a small trace of blood. well i laid down and was on the phone for about a hour and a half next thingi new my mouth was full of blood and i had trouble breathing and i slowed down evenetually well my mom got on the phone with the doc and he told me to gargle cold water.....horrible idea i started to gush blood so i went straight to the er. The doc told my mom as soon as i was put to sleep my vessils broke and i was bleed profuscly out of my nose and mouth but thank god i was already on the operating table so the doc fixed me up...in my opinion it hurts less haveing it cauterized then dealing with the scabs but thats just my opinion

∙ 14y agoI read that just like smoking you should probably wait roughly 5-7 days or when your stiches fall out. i just got mine out yesterdday and boy do i wish i could have a dip or a smoke

∙ 12y agoIf by dip you mean tobacco, then no you can't. You can't use tobacco up to 48 hours after your surgery. Trust me, you don't want dry sockets.
