Classic butter cream icing is not a problem (presuming you are eating it at a dairy meal). The problem is the cake. Cakes made for Passover cannot use flour, but must be made with matzah meal. That is, flour that has been ground from already cooked matzah. You can get special matzah cake meal. Also, most traditional Passover cakes use beaten egg whites to raise the cake, although there are kosher-for-Passover baking powders.
