5 Out from the throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God; 6 and before the throne there was something like a sea of glass, like crystal; and in the center and around the throne, four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind. 7 The first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle. This is the description John gives of the vision given to him by Jesus. Apparently John saw the throne of God in heaven. Before the throne was a surface that appeared smooth and reflective. John also notes 4 living creatures. Do a bible search and you will find these same 4 creatures mentioned elsewhere in scripture. Look specifically to Ezekiel 1:5. These are created beings chosen to accompany God. They are a high order of angel.

REV 5:8 And when He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, having each one a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

There are 28 beings that are before the Lamb (Jesus) They are worshipping him apparently with harps which would mean with music. Insense in the Old Testament represented the people's prayers to God and so it would mean the same here. The next verse talks about singing so they would be using the harps for that. Jesus is worthy of all this praise because he has made it possible for us to go to heaven

I watched as the Lamb (Jesus) opened one of the seven seals (something sealing something else) and I heard one of the living creatures say in a voice (that sounded) like thunder, "Come!"

This verse doesn't make much sense if you read it all by its self. I suggest reading the verses after and before it, and maybe that will shed some light.

The world doesn't seem to realize that God caused The Bible to be written as a "parable." Jesus used parables [illustrative, meaning-hiding stories] whenever He spoke to crowds of people... SO THAT THEY WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT HE WAS SAYING.

His parables are "prophecies" of what shall come to pass in the future; or, as one person put it... "prophecy is history told in advance," recorded to keep God's servants [saints] informed as to what He is doing.

In keeping with His parables, Jesus caused John to record the book of "Revelation" in like manner; needing AN INTERPRETER!

Fortunately, God's servants... those to whom God has given to understand what is written in the Scriptures... have Jesus Christ to tell them what His parables mean.

"All this Jesus spoke to the people in figurative language [parables], and except in figurative language He spoke nothing to them." (Matt.13:34 WEY Weymouth's New Testament)

"When He had dismissed the people and had returned to the [His] house, His disciples came to Him with the request, 'Explain to us the parable of the darnel sown in the field.'" (verse 36 WEY)

So, even Jesus' own disciples didn't understand His parables UNTIL HE EXPLAINED THEM IN PLAIN LANGUAGE! [read the rest of Matthew 13, where Jesus plainly lays out the meaning of the parable for His disciples.

In this same manner... THE BOOK OF REVELATION NEEDS EXPLAINING! John sees the scroll "sealed with 7 seals." No one is "ABLE" to strip them away, so that people might take a look at the future.

And chapter 5, verse 5; is where Jesus Christ is recognized as the ONLY ONE who is qualified to do it.

"...'Do not weep. The Lion which belongs to the tribe of Judah [the Jews], the Root of David, HAS TRIUMPHED, and WILL OPEN THE BOOK and BREAK ITS SEVEN SEALS.'"

THAT's what Rev.5:5 means.

Take what men say the Bible and the book of Revelation means with a "grain of salt," as the saying goes. But look to Jesus Christ for the TRUE MEANING of scriptural matter. After all... the Bible is the WORD of God; the WORDS OF JESUS CHRIST, as the Father in heaven has always commanded Him to say.

"...He who sent Me is TRUE, and the things which I have heard from Him are those which I have come into the world to speak.. Of Myself I DO NOTHING; but AS THE FATHER HAS TAUGHT ME, SO I SPEAK." (John 8:26-28 WEY)

Thus, does Rev.5:5 reveal Jesus Christ to be the One to whom we should look to reveal to us what HIS WORDS MEAN.

The book of Revelation is A PARABLE... to be read and consumed by the general public! It's written and DESIGNED NOT TO BE UNDERSTOOD by all who read it... but by God's servants:

"The REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST, which God [the Father] granted Him, that HE MIGHT MAKE KNOWN TO HIS SERVANTS certain events which must shortly come to pass..." (Rev.1:1 WEY).

The general public doesn't "go to Christ" for a concise explanation of the Bible. Most people "trust their ministers and pastors and priests" to tell them, not only what the Bible MEANS... but, WHAT IT SAYS! Most people who profess Jesus' name have NOT even read the Bible, much less studied it.

So, Rev.5:5 is an "indicator" to God's servants as to whom they should look and trust, to reveal, not only the meaning of the book of Revelation, but the entire Bible.

But, the book of Revelation is about THE END TIME. The final events to take place on planet earth just before Jesus returns [with Jesus' return and what happens afterward revealed at its chronological end].

So, where does a servant of God go in the Bible, to find Jesus' plain, clear explanation of THESE SAME END TIME EVENTS found in the parable of Revelation, that lead up to His return and revealing of Himself as the EARTH'S NEW KING?

Of course, it's where Jesus explained them PRIVATELY to His disciples, ON THE MOUNT OF OLIVES in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21!

"Afterwards He was on the Mount of Olives and was seated there when the disciples came to Him, APART FROM THE OTHERS [privately... no crowds of people], and said, 'Tell us WHEN WILL THIS BE; and WHAT WILL BE THE SIGN OF YOUR COMING and of THE CLOSE OF THE AGE?'" (Matt.24:3 WEY)

THIS is what Rev.5:5 means. Go to Jesus for the explanation of the Bible. Don't trust what men say. Only Jesus can be trusted with that vital information. And it's only God's trusting, Faithful servants who will go to Him [reading and studying His Word].

"...'As for you, if you hold fast to MY TEACHING, then YOU ARE TRULY MY DISCIPLES; and YOU SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH, and THE TRUTH WILL MAKE YOU FREE.'" (John 8:31-32 WEY)

The rest of the world trust what men tell them the Bible says and means. And as a result... the meanings of the seven seals placed on the scroll remain intact and hidden from their hearts and minds.

What is the difference between Zechariah chapter 6 verse 1 to 8 and Revelation chapter 6 verses 1 to 8?

Both Zechariah and Revelation belong to a genre known as Jewish apocalyptic literature, but the passage in Revelation 6:1-8 is an obvious elaboration of the corresponding passage in Zechariah. If there were any doubt, this would demonstrate that Revelation was written later than the Book of Zechariah.
