Certainly not; however you should check the conditions of your bail (99.999% will say you can't), or you can make an application to the court that granted you bail for permission to leave. It is very likely to be denied. If you fly without permission you will have a warrant issued for your arrest and probably won't get new bail, but will spend your time in prison waiting for your trial. It's not worth it!

Most bonds have a condition that restricts traveling and limits a defendant to staying within the state. To have that condition changed generally requires a motion that requests permssion from the judge having jurisdiction over the case. Depending on the circumstances the judge may allow or deny the travel request.

ADDED: AND - as stated above by the counselor; once the legal requirements have been satisfied - if your bail money has been fronted by a bailbondsman - I would strongly recommend you give the bailbondsman a courtesy call and let him know of your travel plans. It might save you some grief for the possible trouble that a misunderstanding of your leaving the jurisdiction might cause.

No. The point of a bail is so that the suspect does not flee the county/state/country. The second you leave the country, you've broken the terms of the bail agreement, and become a fugitive from justice, forfeiting your bail and risking a MUCH longer prison sentence.

Exoneration of a bail bond simply means that the defendant has been adjudicated and the bail liability has been released from the bail bond agent. When a bail bond is posted and a fee is charged by the bail agent that fee is non-refundable no matter if the charges are never filed, the defendant gets parole revoked and put back into custody, or the defendant is adjudicated.

The amount of a bail bond and conditions of pretrial release are set by the court. This depends on how the bail was handled. If a Bondsperson decided to revoke (surrender) your bail, you can bail out via another Bondsperson. If a Judge denied bail only he or another Judge can reinstate it. You need to file a motion for change of bond conditions or motion for bond reduction.

What if you only posted 10 percent of a bail and the person jumps bail what are the consequences for you?

If you posted only 10 percent of the bail amount and the person jumps bail, you may still be responsible for the remaining 90 percent of the bail. The court could revoke the bail bond and issue a warrant for the arrest of the person who jumped bail. As the co-signer of the bond, you may also be pursued by the bail bond company for repayment of the remaining bail amount. Ultimately, you could face financial consequences and potentially legal action.
