Sure. If you actually DO freeze your complete nipple prior to piercing, you will know success has been achieved when your nipple is black you can't feel it when it becomes detached due to necrosis (DEATH!!!) of it and surrounding tissue.

Gibberish! Shmibberish!!

If you apply a cold pack or ice pack to the area you are going to have pierced within twenty minutes of the actual procedure, you CAN do so safely and beneficially as the area will be less sensitive due to the cold.

IN MY EXPERIENCE, and I stress the "MY EXPERIENCE" part, this is a good move to lower nerve sensation at point of piercing and less clean up after the fact.

From a Professional Body Piercer : Professionally provided nipple piercings are simple and require no freezing what so ever, topical cream, ice or injections. You need the desire to have it done, sit down listen and breath. Once the needle is in the piercing that's it the rest is a walk in the park. The above information is just rubbish and based on nonsense. No experienced professional body piercer is going to monkey around with the above mentioned. These can lead to secondary infections due to unsterile liquids touching a point of incision. Only skill, proper materials and a knowledgeable piercer can take what should be a painful experience and make it quite bearable.
