A cyst is an accumulation of cells that have formed a sort of sack beneath the skin which can be filled with air, cellular material, or fluids. If the cyst does not resolve itself, it should be surgically removed. A doctor can determine if this needs to be done.

Whilst not life threatening it should be removed as soon as possible.

the cyst can and most likely will shrink itself. although i have had a cyst the same size that ruptured, this is VERY painful you will know when it ruptures. your doctor will tell you were or not it needs to be removed. most of the cyst will shrink and absorb back into your body though.
