You should not get ink poisoning if you put the ink just under the skin with the needle like some people do for home tattooing. But if you place the needle over a vein or major artery (such as you were tattooing on your wrist) you can get ink poisoning. Be very careful with what you do and always throughly think ahead.

What are the effects of poisoning?

Ink nowadays is non-toxic so it's impossible to get poisoned from it unless you drank a bunch of it, which i do not recommend.. In that case, I'd suggest calling poison control. Otherwise, feel free to draw on yourself or lick the tip of a sharpie (but why?), it won't kill ya.

Can sharpies make you sick?

It depends on how you are using them. If you are drawing on yourself, you would need about 8 sharpie worth of ink to get skin poisoning. If you are sniffing them, too much would result in insufficient oxygen to the brain, which could kill you. If you are eating them... You would die. What solvent will remove a sharpie's ink better water vinegar or soap?

Soap is likely the best solvent as it can break down the oils in the sharpie ink, which helps to lift the ink from the surface. While vinegar can also help remove some ink, soap is generally more effective for this purpose. Water alone may not be as effective at removing sharpie ink.
