The only way to find section 8 housing (called a Housing Choice Voucher Program) is to continue to search Housing Authorities' web sites and seek which ones have openings for their waiting lists. There is no such thing as a central housing authority, though there are many housing authorities that cover several areas within the jurisdiction, known as regional housing authorities. And unlike sex offender registries, there is no central or nationwide housing authority search to see which ones have openings for the waiting lists. Just keep on trying and I'm sure it will work. It worked for me!
