Most likely a state school(your hometown). If you are thinking IVY, you have better be an athlete or the son or daughter of a legacy. Having a bunch of EC's will help, but with a 2.9 GPA you should be taking AP or IB. Your chances are very slim if you are thinking "great school," because they regularly turn down 4.0 students.

∙ 9y agoA person that has a 2.8 GPA (Grade Point Average) can still get into college at the community college level. Ivy League schools prefer a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Other state colleges want a 3.0 or higher.
