i don't think so but i don
Original answerer is wrong. It is actually encouraged that you give your dog Tums during labor. DO NOT give her Tums until the first puppy is out, then repeat for every other puppy after that. Tums can strengthen the contractions making the birthing process easier.
yes, if she is not having strong contractions, you can give it to her according to her weight.
tums
I give them sips of water while in labor or let her lick an ice cube. They will get thirsty, so I offer them this while they are in their "birthing box".
Dams do not like anyone else--dog or human--to be too close by while they are whelping.
can i give dilauded to my dog for pain
i'm trying to figure out if my dog is in labor or not
ONLY a Veterinarian should give oxytocin to your dog in labor. If you are doing it yourself, you could literally blow out the uterus so do NOT do it yourself, only with your Veterinarian. It is not for labor pain but to induce contractions of the uterus.
Ask your vet if you have one. It is never a good idea to give medicine to an animal or human with talking to a veterinarian or doctor:)
A dog can have false labor especially when you frighten it.
No, only male sled dogs race so therefore females can not go into labor while racing.
You can scare a dog and drive it into early labor.
