  • Firstly, the word 'normal' only expresses the fact that if a person does not ac liket most people in society then something has to be wrong with them which in some cases is simply not true. Some people enjoy being different, but it doesn't mean they are abnormal. Yes, some people can have mental health problems that may not surface until they are in adulthood or, sometimes during childhood and the individual can act perfectly normal in many respects with few symptoms that people may not notice in the personand are often labeled 'peculiar.'

What is the percentage of mental health patients who become mental health therapists?

Since society still has so many stigmas against "mental illness", most people will never reveal whether they were ever treated for any type of problem. No school or licensing agency has accurate statistics for how many mental health patients later become mental health therapists. However, it is well-known that many people going into "helping professions" often do so because they want to cure themselves-- or believe they can help people better than they were helped. All professions are included, whether doctors, nurses, or therapists. Some say that professionals heal from (because of) their own woundedness.

Why are experimental studies important in psychology?

One answer is that empirical evidence is important for any empirical science, of which (part of) psychology is an instance. Initially theories in psychology came from introspection, and often initially received little support because of the limits of introspection. Surprising results from emprical studies generate the most interesting theories.Psychology is still a very young science with many important social implications, for instance related to how to help people with mental health problems, how best to select people for jobs, helping people to improve how they learn and make decisions. The only way to put serious psychological theories to the test is by empirical study. If a result replicates, and supports a theory, then this offers a reason to believe in the theory.

How to stop your mental problems?

Mental problems need to be evaluated by a psychiatrist. He or she may be able to prescribe medication that will help with the mental problems. Sometimes, a combination of medication and therapy are used. For some mental problems to stop, you need to talk with someone, a friend, parent, relative, teacher, counselor or therapist. You cannot do it all by yourself. In some cases, a mental problem can be helped by taking medication given by a Psychiatrist. Even if you do take medication, you still need to talk to someone.

Why not? It's still your child. Who has the child the father with mental problems or the custodial parent? Still if the father has mental problem and he fathered a child...yes he does have to pay child support. Was the father with mental problems receiving some type of disability for his mental problems?
