No. Not exactly. It can 'leak' through the area around the belly button, or navel. It doesn't so much leak out as it does bulge out. A hernia in the abdomen is usually caused by a combination of the weakness of the outer connective tissues holding the organs in the abdominal cavity and the pressure inside the cavity, usually caused by exertion and/or lifting heavy objects improperly. When we hold our breath and strain, we dramatically increase the pressure inside the abdominal cavity, and if the factors are just right, we can cause a hernia. The tissues around the navel are a little different on account of the umbilical cord having been there before birth. It is strong enough by nature, but may be a bit weaker than the surrounding tissue, so a hernia can push right next to it and through the abdominal wall into the area of the skin near the belly button. It cannot, however, go through the navel, or umbilicus, itself.
Well if you had the hernia at birth, they would have repaired it then and there when you were a newborn, so yes. A hernia is a tearing of your abdominal wall wherein your intestines start to bulge through and create a lump on your abdomen or your groin area, so it has nothing to do with the epidermis per se, and nothing to do specifically with the navel, although this is a weak point for people who are more predisposed to get them. If you have any fears or questions, consult your Doctor and get his or her opinion on the matter.
Don't think you should. But ask the piercer they may.
I would say no. A hernia is inside your stomach and you have a lump around your belly button. So my guess would be if you have a hernia, you can't get your belly button pierced.
No. I've had my belly button pierced for eight years and never had a hernia. So I have a hard time believing that a belly button ring could cause a hernia. It can cause an infection but it can't cause a hernia.
Well I had a client with a ruptured hernia come into the studio complaining about her navel piercing and had I not refered her to her doctor ASAP she could have gone septic and died, however the hernia was not related to the navel piercing. It depends on what you want to do, if you wan to get a piercing consult your doctor and get your piercer involved in the discussion. Safety first vanity second.
A belly piercing is a piercing on the belly button. Where your belly button might go in or out, it is the slight arch you get just above it. it is a piercing through that area. depending on how your belly button is formed. Search google for images.
If you have not had a body piercing, then you may have an umbilical hernia that needs repair. Visit your doctor for diagnosis as soon as you can.
Yes. There are different types of hernia. One can be next to your belly button. One can be around your belly button. I don't know about the other types.
Yes smh
There are various types of hernia, but one is the umbilical hernia, which occurs behind the belly button. This one was from a colon surgery at the belly button. Can I wait for surgery, what is the dangers and how can I tell if its getting worse? This isn't something you should self-diagnose or self-monitor. You need to see your doctor - preferably the doctor who referred you for, or performed, the initial surgery - for assessment; don't put this off, it will only play on your mind and worry you, when it might turn out to be no problem at all. I had a piercing client come in with what she though was a piercing issue with her navel piercing, it was in fact a hernia and was unrelated to her piercing, but it actually saved her life. Had she not come in to see me she would have gone on her trip to Mexico and it would have ruptured during the plane flight. But she came in, I noticed the issue and sent her to her doctor who sent her directly to the hospital for emergency surgery. Professional body piercers are observant and smart. Oh yes she recovered nicely then went to Mexico to recover by the beach. Jzuk
The pain of the belly button piercing should subside after a week.
Piercing your belly bottom has nothing to do with having a child and it does not affect the process.
Depends on your body, how old the piercing is, and what size the piercing is.
