Well you need to be lactating to generate colostrum (not actually pregnant). It's called the let down reflex and it is just that a "reflex". Manipulation of the areola and nipple will if done daily and done long enough can trigger the let down reflex to occur. Colostrum being the first fluid generated by the mammary glands.

Actual leaking from the piercing all depends on the placement of the piercings, the gauge and the type of jewellery (rings or barbells). Leakage will generally only occur when the breast is manipulated with a fair amount of force or if the breasts haven't been expressed in some time if you are lactating. The pressure applied to the breast can build up some fluid pressure and cause leakage. However during normal breast feeding the nature drawing action should cause no leakage at the piercing points.

How long after the colostrum starts leaking is the baby born?

Taken from www.bith.com.au: Some women will try and express colostrum from their breasts during pregnancy. If you do it is normal to only to get a few drops out at any one time. This can be done by massaging the breast down to the nipple and then compressing the areola, with your fingers at least a couple of centimetres behind the actual nipple. Some parents express concerns that if they leak colostrum they will not have 'enough' for their new baby when he or she is born. This is a myth, because the breasts are capable of constantly replenishing colostrum and breast milk every 3 to 4 hours or so. Your new baby will get all they need! This is why women can still breastfeed other children while they are pregnant, and a few will even 'tandem feed' (that is feeding the older sibling and new baby) after the birth Hope this Helps

No, not every woman leaks colostrum during pregnancy. Some women do, some do not. It is different with each pregnancy as well. A woman might leak during her first pregnancy and not her second or she might leak during every pregnancy or never during any pregnancy. Either way is NORMAL.

What would cause blood in colostrum when your breast leak?

What is colostrum and is it safe to drink?

Colostrum is the pre-milk from the breasts. Colostrum is a fluid that precedes the production of real breast milk. It is very rich in antibodies and minerals. It doesn't produce nearly as much as breast milk, but it is filling for a newborn baby who can only consume teaspoons to a tablespoon of milk in the very beginning. It may appear just before labor and delivery of a newborn, or it may not appear until up to 24 hours post-partum. You may only produce colostrum for anywhere from a couple of days to a week or two before breast milk comes in. It is 'safe' to drink. Your newborn baby depends on this from nursing mothers because of the fact that it is so much richer in antibodies, nutrients, and minerals than regular breast milk. It's a great jump start in the health of your newborn if you are nursing. It's just as safe for an adult to drink - say if you 'leak' a little colostrum if you and your partner are having sexual relations (foreplay or intercourse or both) - but it may not taste all that great to your partner. However, for newborns, the taste is great! I wouldn't recommend your partner to try to 'milk' the colostrum from your breasts just for the purpose of drinking it himself (or herself). Save this milk to be nursed by your newborn! But 'accidents' do happen and they will leak when you become aroused also, and in this case, he (or she) will be just fine if they accidentally have a swallow.

Is it normal to leak colostrum at 4 months?

Generally the woman's body will begin to prepare her for breast feeding in the 3rd trimester. Her breasts will leak a small amount of fluid not quite "milk" but "colostrum", which helps trigger the bodies hormones for producing and encouraging the "let down" of milk. Studies say that the first milk that oozes out of the breast which is called the "colostrum", which is thick and yellow, plays an important role in the health of the baby.

Are you pregnant if you have a little leak from your nipples and can squeeze some out as well?

This is caused by progesterone. I have this myself and im not pregnant. It can be pregnancy related but you would be over 3 months pregnant if this was the case. Still see your doctor about this. Breast and nipple changes need to be examined. ACTUALLY, you can get Colostrum leaking from your breasts at 4wks. it is clear-ish and can be squeezed out if you try. Colostrum is produced to get your body ready for breastfeeding. If you want more answers google it, because the majority of answers from all kinds of sites might make you feel better.
