It depends, if it's spring or summer and it's between 70-90 then yes, but only for a little while because they need humidity of 70-80 to breathe because they have modified gills (but they can still drown).

Also make sure there are no fertilizers where the hermie is crawling about.

If you were to leave him in a hermit crabless beach he would die. I f you took him from that same beach, certainly. If you bought him from a pet store, i would guess it would be ok as long as your SURE the beach has other hermit crabs.

= Bad Idea .. The crabs will die. Each type of hermit crab needs a different location to survive. Look up hermit crab images and find your hermit crab, then look up their natural environment.

If you want to, sure. Land hermit crabs like what ever is knew to them, and it shouldn't affect the hermit crab. We had a hermit crab, and when we put a birch tree branch in, he climbed right on.

Yes, they are excellent escape artists! especially if you have vines and climbing toys going up the sides. They also sometimes climb up the glue in the corners! be sure to have a lid on your crabitat! hope this helps! :)
