My psychiatrist says "NO"... he just took me off of Lyrica. He said that he recently read a study which reported that taking a combination of Concerta and Lyrica causes a very significant amount of memory loss. Believe me: he is absolutely correct!
--Whatever I did each morning, I would think in the afternoon that I had actually done that yesterday!
--Every morning, I would have to look at my PC clock in order to see what date and day it was.
--I would go to get something in another room and when I got there I couldn't remember what the reason was as to me being in that room.
--I went through a RED traffic light. My wife was constantly telling me things I had done, said, or already heard the past several days.
--I was constantly: rewinding movies; reading a paragraph in a book over and over again... etc.
I have been on lithium for about 5 years or so. ok but doc added concerta and I started clenching so off the concerta. clenching got better but usual awful taste in mouth has turned into a burning inferno. this is gross but here goes - lots of grittiness, saliva, making weird tongue movements, pee burns, my face has so many zits I look like a 50 year old women going through puberty instead of menopause. WHAT is going on?
So long as you have a prescription for both from your doctor, you can take these drugs together. Remember that Concerta is a narcotic stimulant, and can be habit forming. Take it exactly as the doctor says and do not try to break open the pill. Do not take extra Concerta.

Bad idea...they counteract each other...wait 4-6 hours between the two medications
