Self-medicating Valium and Adderall is probably a bad idea. However, there are many good reasons that a doctor may prescribe both medications. Bear in mind that Valium (Diazepam) can be used to treat (among other things):

• Nausea as an anti-emetic
• Anti-anxietal and calmative
• Anti-seizure med.
• Anti-toxin and antagonist for many marine or arthrodpod neurotoxins.
• Insomnia (often a result of Adderall).
• Used at a treatment for chemical warfare agents including sarin.

Benzodiazapine class meds created a revolution in pharmacology, especiially due to the wide spectrum of possible uses, and significantly lowered M&M stats by replacing drugs like barbituates.

In this case, I wouldn't write this combination off as a bad idea without considering the entire picture.

What the first person who answered is thinking is that they are two opposites, and would create a sort of speedball affect, but this is not true [First answer removed in this version]. Adderall does indeed speed up your mind and thoughts, making you focus much better, however if you suffer from anxiety, Adderall can make this much worse. The best solution for anxiety is a benzo, like Valium, even though I prefer Xanax, to counter act the anxiety. Benzo's do Not slow down your thoughts as much as they simply make your more relaxed. I am currently prescribed 30mg XR once a day, 10mg IR in the afternoon, and 1mg Kpins twice a day by my doctor and they work perfectly together and I Do indeed recommend it. Alternate Answer:I am prescribed 60mgs Adderall IR daily and was just recently prescribed 10mg of Valium by the same doctor. I PERSONALLY haven't experienced any bad side affects, and agree that it does help with anxiety, although I have taken other Benzo's that have worked better for anxiety. Clarification:I noted that self-medicating was a bad idea. Note that these two medications are not contraindicative. I stand by this. Both these medications require a prescription, and adminstration should be monitored by a doctor. Alternative AnswerI take 40mg of Adderal a day and have back muscle issues which I take Valium for. its helfpful and I havn't noticed any problems. I do really suggest though, that you talk with your doctors about what you specifically need to think about concerning this combo.

Yes, ive mixed adderall and flexeril before, and i was fine. however, it wasnt the most pleasant experience. adderall is a stimulant, both physiologically and mentally, whereas flexeril is usually experienced as a depressant for both mind and body. Both medications offered benefit, but urinating became nearly impossible. flexeril is an anti cholinergic, which means it can make it hard to pee for some people. adderall has this same effect for some, and for me they both contributed, making my bladder my main concern.

Not while on one already, while it's still active (about six hours for adderall, 8-10 hours for xr). They're designed to release and degrade at a certain rate for a reason. Too much at once is extremely dangerous to the body and can trigger anxiety attacks, damage your heart, and affect your moods.

It also depends on the dose. For example, 10mg xr and 5mg adderall ingested at the same time can be the approximation of taking one 10mg adderall with a greater plateau of stimulation for a longer amount of time. I'd stay away from anything that's at the 40mg range as a rule of thumb, although this is highly dependent on weight and health.

It is because they have the same chemical mix's. The only thing that is different is if its Adderall XR (Extended Release) or Adderall IR (Istant Release). But any kind of Adderall mixed with other Adderall name brands are the same, it will just effect you more, there's no risk.

I have prescriptions for all three of these medications and I have taken all three for years. I have never had a bad reaction when taking them all together. So Id say, as long as you take them ONLY as they are prescribed, you will probably be just fine, though you might get a little tummy ache.
