All of Nintendo's hand held systems in the Game Boy line and including the Nintendo DS Lite, are capable of playing games from anywhere around the world. There are no regional lockout chips or codes installed on the units which prohibit game play, unlike the Nintendo home console lineup. Game Boy Advance games sold in the USA for example can be played on a Japanese Game boy Advance sp, and will be displayed in English regardless. And all Japanese Game Boy Advance games will appear in Japanese language when played on a North American Game Boy Advance sp.

∙ 15y agoNintendo DS games are not playable on the Game Boy Advance. The Game Boy Advance is compatible with Game Boy Advance and original Game Boy cartridges. If you have a Nintendo DS, it will play Nintendo DS games or Game Boy Advance games. It is NOT compatible with the original Game Boy game cartridges.

∙ 13y agoThere isn't any difference between the gameboy advance and the gameboy advance SP, other than design and the backlight added to the SP. So, there's no difference in the games, either, and you can play any gameboy advance game on an SP or on the original advance.

No, there is not.
Why did they make the 3ds in a way that no other game systems can play 3ds games?
If games never advanced technologically, we'd all be still playing on a Game Boy. The answer is simple - games need to advance, and of course, so do the consoles that play them. Nintendo wanted more advanced games than what the Game Boy was able to play, and so Game Boy Colour, and then Game Boy Advance games came out. There's no way a regular Game Boy can support a game like Pokemon Emerald, which is why the consoles had to be upgraded too. The 3DS is just the latest link in the chain. The games it plays are too advanced for the DSi to play. If the DSi could play them, then there'd be no need for the 3DS.

For the game yes, but youu cannot trade gameboy advanced games with each other you need two gameboy's to do so. The slot is located at the bottom of the DS, you have to pull out the cartrigde to access it.
