The newest PS3 is irreversible. The thing won't even play PS2 games and its only $100 bucks or so cheaper. I've heard it has some things fixed from the older model but it does'n play PS2 or PS1 games.

∙ 12y agoOlder PS3 Models with 4 USB ports will play PS2 games as seen on related PlayStation network link. All PS3 models with only 2 USB ports can not play PS2 games and there are no updates, downloads or additional hardware or cables that will allow them to play PS2 games. All models of PS3 can play PS1 games with software emulation.

∙ 12y agoNo if you had a PS3 that could you would already know it. They stopped making the last style of old 4 USB port PS3 models in August 2008 and they were the only ones that could play PS2 games

To answer your question, no you can't but you can play PS2 games on your PS3 now sure about PS1 you might be able to. You also can not purchase a new PS3 and play PS2 games on it and have not been able to for years. Only the old 4 USB port models could play PS2 games and then it was not every title game available back in 2006 0r 2007.
