No you do not. Bigger tires and wheels have nothing to do with it stopping.
Yes you can put bigger tires on your existing wheels up to a point. Talk to your local tire dealer and they can advise you on the biggest tires you can use.

When you put bigger tires on your car, SUV, crossover, or light truck, you raise the vehicle's clearance increasing body roll and load transfer, which may negatively impact your car's balance and speed
Yes it is possible. The difference is the tires you are replacing are bigger than the one you want to put on but not by much.
Bigger tires changing your gear ratio say if you had like 3.50 before you put your bigger tires on your stock tire use to do a full rotation every time the drive line spins 3 and a half times now that you have bigger tires your no longer doing a full rotation for the 3 and a half turns so at freeway speeds your engine is revving a lot higher :)
Not any more. "Stagger" is a technique used to make race cars with bias ply tires more stable. You put either bigger tires or higher tire pressure on the right side. Sprint cars and other series where they're not trying to "make everyone equal" use bigger tires; because NASCAR has always mounted the tires for you they put more air in the rights. This has naturally led to some of the more vicious wrecks in the history of the sport - if you are running five pounds of stagger and accidentally put a right-side tire on your left front, you go straight into the wall at full racing speed. They don't use stagger with radial tires because it doesn't do anything for you.
