No. Shot is a collection of smaller projectiles than the barrels diameter that choke can constrict to cause them to spread at a further distance. A slug is the diameter of an unchoked barrel and thus it would be like plugging up the end of a gun and pulling the trigger.
Yes. Rifled slugs are intended for smoothbore barrels (abot slugs aer for RIFLED barrels). Best accuracy with rifled slugs is USUALLY a modified choke, but can be safely fired thru any choke less than EXTRA full choke.
You can, but I wouldn't advise it.
Some bolt action shotguns had an adjustable choke, and it is generally NOT recommended that slugs be fired through those. If there is no adjustable choke at the muzzle, your shotgun should be fine. Stay with rifled slugs.
no slugs should on be shot thru a improved cylinder shotgun. if you shoot thru any other choke it can cause the barrel to split
I would not say it is recommended but I think it is okay if the barrel is Cylinder Choke. If there is a choke to the barrel, I'd advise against it.
yes you can shoot rifled slugs through smooth bore barell, or use rifled choke for sabots. the sa08 takes the same choke as mossberg...win, etc.
yes for a shotgun you need a rifle barrel DO NOT shoot slugs if you have a poly-choke!
Pellets or slugs. shotguns usually shoot shot or pellets, but you can shoot slugs. in Indiana we use a shotgun to hunt deer and use shotgun slugs, better to use a barrel with no choke in it. cylinder bore preferred.
rifled choke tubes for sabot slugs and cylinder or improved cylinder choke tube for foster type slugs. you can shoot slugs with semi-auto. experiment to find what cycles the best without jamming.
Slugs. You CAN shoot lead bird shot in a rifled barrel but it will not give you good or consistant patterns.
Rifled slugs may be safely fired thru MOST shotgun barrels, The makers of some variable chokes recommend that slugs NOT be fired thru them, and turkey guns that use the Extra Full choke aer not usually recommended for slug shooting.
no you cannot. sabot slugs are made for rifled barrels. I would buy a rifled slug barrel.
