Can you slide to first base in little league fast pitch softball?
Yes. You cannot slide head first while advancing but you can dive head first BACK to a base.
yes, they can.
yes, there are no rules/regulations for pitching in softball. that's just baseball.
Generally the rules of the softball league will tell you which bats are able to be used. You may want to check those first. Other than that, yes a fast pitch bat can be used. There are a fe people on my co-ed league who do this and have had no problems for 3+ seasons witht he same bat.
Yes there is a pro fast pitch league. The league is NPF, National Pro Fast pitch.
Can a pitcher in little league fast pitch softball go back to the mound after she was pulled off the mound?
yes, so long she has not yet started her pitch or presented the ball.
If no one is on base then a ball is awarded to the batter. If a runner or runners are on base then they will be moved up one base and a ball is awarded to the batter.

If your playing any kind of Womens softball then yes. But for mens softball, it matters what league your playing in. Some lay overhand slow itch, overhand fast itch, underhand slow pitch or underhand fast pitch. Check with a teamate or make sure what kinda of softball you are playing
It depends on what the league rules are. High school and college softball you are allowed to bunt. Most often once you reach a certain age in a youth league you're allowed to bunt. (I'm assuming you're talking about fast-pitch softball)
They do in little league, but the action of pitching a softball is less harmful to the body than an overhand pitch, asa and usssa haven't seen the need for it as yet, there is not enough data on injuries due to extended pitching underhand.
older softball was a slower pitch cause they are not as strong or built as we are today!!!
50- 65mph if thrown hard
A baseball is smaller than a softball softball- first base looks different Pitch underhand Baseball- overhand
easy...you learn how to do all kinds of pitches or just some pitches and you do it in a fast pitch league..
The fastest Little league pitch was 90 MPH. A twelve year old by threw this pitch. His name is Tanner Beebe.
yes but not head first
There is no official fastest softball pitch recorded. The NPF (National Pro Fastpitch league) claims that pitches of 70+ MPH are common. The fastest pitch recorded at the 1996 Olympic Games was 73.2 MPH.
I believe, yes and no, in fast pitch travel softball you are aloud to dive into 1st
I don't know exactly but I've watched the Little League World Series enough and they always refer to Little Leaguers pitching speed in relation to MLB and I believe that 70 mph Little League would be around 100 mph MLB A 70 mph little league pitch is equivalent to about a 111 mph MLB pitch. (This is calculated based on an average little league pitch at 57.5 mph and an average MLB pitch at 91… Read More
even though it is an athletic game the reason that softball if not a major league sport is due to the size of the ball. that is sadly the only reason why. people dont find it as interesting if the ball is easily hit, womens softball is a different story tho. because in mens league your underhand pitch is slow but for women the pitch is fast. but once again the problem is the ball… Read More
Softball Pitch is underarm hand movement
yes there is different types of softball. There is fast-pitch and there is slow-pitch softball.
Baseball is a over-handed pitch. Softball is a under-handed pitch
i call it a throw. when you pitch the softball its called a pitch.
Because of the relatively different speeds one can pitch in modified, the best bat to purchase would be a fast pitch bat. Although the speeds will not be as fast a a Fast Pitch league the pitchers will still be throwing harder than a slow pitch/arc league. Hope this helps
in little league it is 60 feet; major leagues are 90 feet
Yes, You can steal three bases in fast pitch softball. You can not steal first.
The term softball came from the way they first played, when pitching underhand was a soft, slow pitch. So it was soft..ball. You may also here the terms slow pitch for younger girls these days and fast pitch for older girls.
If a batter swings at a pitch in the dirt and it is the third strike and also the third out can the batter run to first base?
In softball yes.. if first base is not occupied.... but it depends on baseball and softball and what leval you play at
When you pitch a softball the first thing you do is hold the ball than you round your arm one time and when you get next to your hip let go. But when you round your arm make sure you take a big step/ stride.
Fast pitch and baseball are the same. A softball glove is different.
No. Fast-pitch is were they have the big softballs. In slow pitch, they have little ones. But they are both bigger than Baseballs! The BIG balls that you see in collage softball are started being used in 12 and under. (Which is 11 and 12 year olds) 8, 9, 10 year olds use the middle sized ball. 5, 6, 7 year old us the little balls. The liitle balls are a little bigger than baseballs.
Because a softball is heavier then a baseball.
An underarm throw in softball is basically a pitch. If you watch a fast pitch softball team, you will see that the pitcher pitches underhand.
Not many boys play softball but it is not illegal. im 11 and i almost pitch bbetter softball than baseball. ( i play baseball). so if i could find a league that guys play softball, i would go there definitly. the reason most girls play softball because back ago, girls were not allowed to play baseball so they created softball. it was just a sexus thing to do.
Some umpires will call a little differently, but the average is between the letters on your jersey to your knees
There are two different kinds of softball, fast pitch and slow pitch. Rather than try to explain I will point you to a wonderful link that will explain all. http://www.sportsknowhow.com/softball/dimension/softball-fast-pitch-field-dimensions.html
In terms of actual speed, a baseball pitch is much faster then a softball pitch. However, a softball pitcher throws from a shorter distance so it often looks just as fast if not faster then a baseball pitcher.
Because softball is for fat overweight people who could never play real sports and had to settle for a slow pitch womenly league. Basketball is for chiseled superstar athletes. What a dumb question.
You must pitch the ball in 12 seconds in pro and little baseball. If the batter doesn't come, then you just have to pitch it.
It was 130 miles per hour by a fast pitch softball player.
The first softball game was played on Thanksgiving Day in 1887. They players played inside of a gym at Farragut Boat club, located in Chicago, IL. The believed inventor of softball is George Hancock.
In general, add aboout 20 mph because you are calculating the different pitching lengths. Little league pitchers throw from 45 feet, major leaguers throw from 60.5 feet. For example, a little league pitcher throwing a 70 mph pitch is equivalent to a major league player throwing about a 90 mph pitch.
In softball, the ball is bigger. Baseball pitchers pitch the ball overhand while softball pitchers pitch underhand. Baseball is more of a boys sport and softball is generally more for girls.
Fast pitch softball is pitched underhand and a baseball is pitched overhand.
The ball goes slower and there is more offense in the game.
11" circumference for women's slow pitch softball.
College softball pitchers, pitch anywhere from 50mph to about 70mph. But 70mph is about the fastest.
no the softball is much bigger and different. you use your index, middle, ring, and pinky(for support) and your thumb to pitch. softball and baseball has the nsame pitches, but different ways to do it. trust me I'm a softball player :) and a pitcher:) and a hitting slugger:)
