∙ 15y agoI tried going off cymbalta but the withdrawal symptoms were so horrible! I asked the doctor to put me on something else that would help, and she switched me to lexapro, which put an end to my withdrawal symptoms to cymbalta almost immediately. I am now trying to come off lexapro and it is significantly easier.

∙ 14y agoIf cymbalta is not working for you your docotor may sugest a different drug. The switch is usual after several days to about 2 weeks to "clean" your ststem of the old drug.
I have taken wellbutrin & cymbalta (at different times in life) Remember to stay hydrated & always read the drug label.

I take 100mg lamictal 60mg Cymbalta and xanax as needed for ptsd. there is no effect whether i take lamictal ar not but i can't get off Cymbalta. can I wean from Cymbalta to st johns wort?
If I were you I wouldn't take st john wort. I've heard that it can make ptsd worse in some cases. I would try wellbutrin or budiproprion (Spelling) instead. Slowly wean from cymbalta. It can make you severely depressed and or manic even if you have never been. Also wellbutrin and the budi meds are the most natural meds they make for ptsd, depression, etc. if that's what your worried about. Good luck! :)
