5HTP raises the neurotransmitter serotonin levels in the brain. Diazepam makes the neurotransmitter GABA more available in the brain. These two medications do not interact because they work on different neurotransmitters. They can be taken together.
Be carefull mixing 5HTP with other drugs which work on serotonin like: SSRI's like Prozac and other antidepressants, tricyclic antidepressants, tramadol, St John s Worth, XTC, etc. This will raise serotonin levels too high and can be dangerous.
I have been wondering the same thing. I have been taking a low dosage of Diazepam for a while now, but my low grade depression will not go away, so I've decided to throw a little 5-HTP in the mix, since SAM-E and St. Johns Wort didn't do anything. I will keep you updated on how it goes. Shouldn't be a problem though since they both work on different chemicals in the brain ie: 5-HTP increase seratonin, Diazepam works on GABA levels. Good luck

5mg
Valium (diazepam) 5mg.
Depends?? Do you want to be a drooling pathetic mess? Then go for it dude!
no
it is 5mg diazepam which is a generic for Valium i believe
Half life of diazepam is about 36 hours. At after 96 hours, you will still have the proportion of diazepam. It will be as if you have taken one tablet of diazepam at the end of 72 hours.
No a single 5mg dose of diazepam will not cause death. A child in a siezure can tolerate upto 10mg either rectally or IV with very little chance of overdose in a prehospital setting. An adult can tolerate much more.
allopurinol amlodipine besylate can i take them together
xanax is Alprazolam Valium is diazepam There clearly isn't an equivalent.... what are you asking exactly?
No, it's not. In fact, I'm currently perscribed Neurontin (Gabapentin) 300mg 3x/day and Diazepam 5mg basically as needed (usually 2x/day). This is coming from the same doctor. I'm sure he would not perscribe it if there was a harmful reaction, and I obviously take them together all the time.
I asked my pharmacist and he looked it up on their professional drug interaction checker- he didn't find anything wrong with taking them together.
Yes, just keep the doses of all three low.
